use SIMPLEGREEN... and i think the only thing to cover is ur alternator that should be all....oh and ya and ur fluids too as in break container and cluch container and ur wires.... and any old brush should work...

 

+1 on the SimpleGreen. Recently used it on my engine bay and it worked fine.

Teflon-safe scrubber pad, long bottle brush, plenty of Simple Green, and my pressure washer. There's nothing in there you will hurt.

I use degreaser and simple green. My engine bay will never be like those ^^^ I live in maryland where your engine bay will never look that clean.

you have to cover the intake filter to if you have one. When i went to have mine clean for 30 bucks with car wash, the guy forgot to cover the filter and when i went home i heard a funny noise its good i checked and the place was near my house.

Oil cans collect the oil, moisture and blow-by gas that causes carbon and sludge build-up in the intake system and engine to keep them clean. Pretty much only used on boosted cars though due to the increase pressure output of your PCV valve.

 

It works just as well on n/a cars too, oil going back into the intake can cause sludge and also detonation.

its an air/moisture separator filter, you can get them at home depot.

Cover absolutely nothing, spray the whole engine bay with Simple Green, then use my bad-ass pressure washer on it. Basically, at least one a month for the last three years that I've owned the car.

 

just go out and buy a can of engine degreaser

u spray it in ur engine bay, wait a minute or two, and hose it down with power wash

it works like magic
