i started to have vibration when i speed up to around 120km/hr after i use this aftermarket winter rims. So I searched the forum, and I went to my mechanic to check my rims...the rims themselves are fine, so just balanced the tires....
but then...still vibrating....so i check again...and found out missing the center ring in 2 of the rims. But then, still, it's still vibrating...so I went to another mechanic, he found that the studs in my left front wheels went bad. He said maybe the dude didn't screw the nuts hard enough last time...so it scrwed all 5 studs, they are not in the center. ok, so i replaced all 5 studs...but it's still vibrating!!! :firemad:

omfg ..... help...........................

I would suspect the tire or tires themselves might be the problem, check the sidewalls for a lump or indentation. Sometimes you just get a bad tire and the rubber starts to separate from the steel belt lining. Just ask the Michellin Man he knows all about that stuff lol.

My girlfriend experienced the same problem. Eventually the mechanic said it was a combination of suspension and brakes because the car was so old. and wanted to replace all kinds of stuff. So I drove it to feel where the vibe was coming from. Sure enough I found a very small lump on the side wall of one of the tires told her to replace the tire. No more vibration.

It could also be the rotor or rotor bearings

That could be lots of things... Tread seperation(common in winter tires or if you have spun the tires alot...), Flat spots on tire(from pulling ebrake or drifting). If its either one of those then you will have to replace all the tires. When I was pulling wrenches at a dealership I had seen that alot espesically in sporty cars. tell your mechanic to check for tread seperation or flat spots because balancing your tires would not repair the vibration...

"edit: The user 06rsxs06 talks of a lump in side wall thats severe tread seperation."

hope this helps...

thx for the input...
i guess might be the tires....
haha...need to go visit the mechanic again

my mom was asking me "why does your car have so many things to fix?"
my gf was like "what? there again? i am not going to pick u up. unless we are going to shopping after" ...lol

hmm...i found one of my front tires has less pressure than the other 3
will that be the reason?

I have the same problem. I went through 5 different sets of tires and finally gave up. I started with goodyear, I knew the owner of the tire shop, vibration, tried 4 new ones, vibration, a different brand, vibration, the most expensive tires they had in stock, vibration, 4 brand new yamaha factory tires installed, balanced and aligned by Acura, vibration a little better, but still there. 50,000 miles later, 4 brand new tires, different place, balanced aligned, vibration. I have chosen to accept my fate. I do not beat on my car, nor do I race it. The car still rocks though...

do you get vibes under acceleration, coasting or braking at high speeds?

stuffed wheel bearings and driveshafts can cause vibrations when accelerating at high speeds.

warped brake rotors can cause the steering to shake when braking.

it didn't shake until it reaches high speed, and the threshold seems to be 120km/hr
braking seems fine though
yea...i will check the alignment again...i hope it's the alignment =T

you are saying you changed the rims and it started - this is probably the answer.
When I got my rsx I have kinda the same when going exactly 80mph... 5 miles less or 5 miles more - it gone... replaced my right front wheel with rear one. pain gone...

in general if you drive hard and tires itself are crappy you should keep an eye on how good those are balanced... if it would not be the rims... I would check axles..

i just tested my car last nite....
no vibration on braking...and sudden accelerating too
it does happen when i accelerate to 120km/hr or keep the speed of 120

yea...so maybe it's the tires problem...damn it
let's see =*(
