Weird Front End Vibration Occurring

Hi guys,

I have the oddest vibration in the front end.

It only happens at like 60 MPH ish and when I am on a big right hand curve on highways etc. As the car is turning I am getting a lot of vibration in the front end.

It never acts up any other way, just at this speed and turning right.

I thought maybe Tie-rod, but looks fine. Also maybe alignment, but the car seems to be aligned.

So I rotated the tires and going to test it out...any other thoughts?

I am on Mugen SS.

well im having the same problem but without turning. its a wobble at 40 - 50 when my foot is on the gas. i changed my tie rod it helped a little. but still does it. im changing my wheel bearing next and possibly an axle if that doesnt fix it lol

are you sure its not your wheels being un-balanced?

I dont think so as it's fine except within that little variation of speed and turning angle. It very well could be, and this is pissing me off lmao

I should be able to tell by the rotate tho, I just need to hit the highway.

bah, rotated tires and its worse now through cornering....anyone have an idea wtf this vibration is? It honestly feels like the tires are bouncing off the ground a tad when cornering only

Thanks bro...will try them all

you sure one of the front struts isn't blown?
No man, a blown front strut is almost impossible to miss. I tested the tension in the front end and the coil has plenty of it.

does it get bad when you hit around 60mph+? If so your wheels need balanced
Yes it does, but only when cornering meaning when the tires are angled...confuses the shit out of me.

Same vibration on EP3 Chassis

I have the same problem on my EP3 Civic Hatch 2002 w/ K20 pplant (same chassis front end as the RSX but w/ electric steering gear).

Vibration is more severe on right turns than left and is typically excited by a bump in road and increased drive torque makes it worse.

We have a clover leaf loop ramp here with proud tar strips and hitting the loop at 40 mph over the strips accelerating can really excite this vibration.

Considering changing the front struts, believe the dampening action may be lost at turning angle due to fit and wear patterns between the piston and bore in the struts.

As for tires, same problem with different sets, same problems with Michelin x-Ice winters as Perelli P3000's summers.

As for the rest of the cars front ent it is in alignment and no play or runouts in wheels, axles or hubs.

Thoughts ...comments...

When I get a strut changed I'll post the results. Was going to put in Monroe premium units.

Cheers

hmmm

see the thing is the coils feel loose even when backing out of my driveway but only with the wheels are turned.

so for example im backing out of my driveway turning and i hit the curb depression...the coilovers clunk pretty good.

fuck this is driving me nuts...i hate actually driving this car now.
